rankin house lies in a heavily wooded creek bed in Missoula, Montana. The main body of the house is parallel to the creek, allowing the sight and sound of its year-round flow to be expected within the 110′ long space. The house is enclosed on the opposite side with a board-formed concrete wall that stops short of the roof, allowing a continous band of clerestory around the house for light and circulation.

falcon residence keeps it simple. With its masonry base, nestled into the sloping site, a steel structure cantilevers out exposing a glass edge. The full height perimeter glass wraps the western edge offering a view of San Diego’s downtown skyline. public architecture
