pac’d day one: recap

i was a step closer today meeting someone i respect on and off the tennis court. after watching federer and blake punish stroke perfection, one after another, for 2 hours straight, in the blazing hot sun, roger signs autographs before walking off the practice court. he took the time to autograph everyone’s items, included my hat! it was great. ken snapped the perfect photo (thanks ken!). i couldn’t help to say some silly remark to the extent of ‘you’re the man roger!’… he looked up, nodded, and smiled. it was great. first-class act.

star pac’d life

Took a day off and drove out to 1st round action at the pacific life open. I spent the majority of the day walking from one practice court to another. What a day…!

above is a shot of federer and nadal hitting… must have been a promotional thing? it lasted all of 5 minutes. federer was previously on the court for about 2 hours hitting with blake. it was amazing to watch courtside.

For the first time ever we handed the design responsibilities for the issue edition to an outside source. That source being the design trio Wood Wood. Our 44th issue edition will also serve as the working catalog for the exhibition.
