A major milestone is reached with the house. Time to focus on inside details. We’ll continue to work on the waterproofing issue that won’t go away and start the fence & gate in about 2 weeks when Matt is back from his NYC trip (the one in the pic is temporary).

Did quite a bit of research on what type of stucco to go with.. but decided on conventional, old skool base white in a smooth / slick finish. The garage (temporary until we figure out funds for the addition) was painted in Benjamin Moore Black Jack.

The palm casts a fun shadow on the house.
Looks really great – you are making some excellent progress and inspiring my efforts…
I especially like picture three…could be a Herman Miller teaser.
Love the black and white!
Looking good! I think the garage painter did a GREAT JOB too!!
Outstanding. What kind of fence are you planning?
Corten steel + texas privet? … still working thru the design.
Wow, looks amazing! What a feat.
Love the look of the smooth troweled stucco and how open everything is.
Congrats. I’m so JEALOUS.
Hi! I saw your post over on Plastolux. We had planned on remodeling an awful house in to a pretty modern home, but due to some changes in plans we’re going to build from scratch now. You’ve done a fantastic job! Can’t wait to see more!
Thank you! It’s been a fun experience… Building from scratch sounds exciting — any plans on your site?
