cut it out

It’s been a few weeks — but we’re back to it. No shortage of things to do.. however, there’s a direct correlation b/t the amount of work going on and the bank account.

It took me a few weekends to dig out the DG. A good learning experience, not to go to waste due to the fact DG will be used in the front and surrounding planters. However, it’s dirty, dusty and not recommended for major paths leading to your house.

The courtyard was filled with concrete and a cut out was left for a tree or cactus. The general rule is 40 sq ft for a hardscape cut-out, ours is just 18 sq ft. Rock formation will make it tricky to dig out and replace with soil for a tree.

  1. 1 the brick house

Oh yeah, DG is awful to move – but the cement looks great!

Please do a giant sculptural cactus – I think it will look spectacular and won’t have the shedding potential of a big tree. No dusting up tree bits in the little amphitheater.
