hey Noah,
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. The stucco is white / santa barbara finish. It's nice, but will show hairline cracks.. just the nature of the material. The interior walls are painted with Benjamin Moore spec white with an added 10-parts white (it's white!). The windows and doors are from western aluminum. the back door is wood (called a single lite or storefront). We used woca wood lye in white with straight-up bona naturale -- not aware of any comp variations. I'd recommend doing several tests with a variety of stains and finishes to achieve the look you're after. good luck with your project!

I was wondering what color coat and color did you choose for the stucco? As well as what color your interior walls are?

Did you special order black windows? Are they vinyl or. . .???

Did you use the Bona Naturale "Base" "2 Comp" or "1 Comp" ??

And as far as the WoCa Wood Lye which did you use? Softwood, Master, Wood, and color?

I love your house more than almost anything I've come across. Such creative thinking. And gorgeous selections.

Thanks for any/all answers you can give me! Thanks!

Hi, Justin--Did you use the white wood lye or the grey wood lye from WOCA? I love the floors, too, and came across your site through The Brick House. Thanks so much! Kati

hey Karyn, thanks for the feedback! the floors do have have a slight hue to them. I personally dig the grey look as well. however, we ultimately landed on woca wood lye for the floors. we sanded the floors and applied the stain straight-up; no bleaching due to the cost and time associated with doing 2 passes… I hear bleaching is quite toxic too and actually weakens the wood. we finished our white oak floors with the water-based bona naturale. it’s ultra-matte in finish and feels like untreated wood! hope that helps!

Hey Justin, what a great site! I got linked here through Plastolux, where I saw the beautiful job that you did to your old oak floors. I'm getting new oak floors, but I want them to look like yours do! How did you whitewash them? My floor guy has given us a sample of white oak, stained with diluted white paint, then finished with a matte finish, but they don't quite have the grey look that yours do, which I adore. Any suggestions for me?

Thanks,
Karyn
