
Tile is underway. After all the debate trying to choose a color and do something *fun*, we decided to stick with the white. I had no idea choosing tile for the shower pan was going to be so agonizing. Since we installed a regular ole drain, we needed to plan for plenty of slope. Therefore, 3×3 or smaller tile was required. I suppose in hindsight, I should have thrown down for a terrazzo shower pan. Given the size of the shower, I was concerned with the cost. Oh well — next time.

all has not been quiet on the home front. I’m gonna fast-forward ahead and leave several weeks of work off the site: waterproofing, planning, framing, backing, rough plumbing, electrical, stairs, shower pan hot map (stinky stinky), shower glass install, and mechanical.
over the weekend: we started to install drywall reveals. after some well needed insight from patrick at envelopeA+D (nice work!), we rolled with Fry Reglet “F” reveal where the ceiling meets the wall. and a “Z” reveal where the wall meets the floor, thus keeping the drywall off the floor. Neat detail, not-so-neat when the floor is uneven like ours. Oh well, live and learn eh? Above is the LED strip lighting test, purchased from environmental lights which will span the entire length of the west wall.
